Is OptiMonk really free?
Yes. The Free plan does not expire and needs no credit card. It includes 10,000 pageviews a month, one domain and a monthly allowance of AI credits. There is no time-limited trial: the Free plan is the trial.
Does the AI agent cost extra?
No. The agent that designs, builds and manages your popups is part of every plan, including Free. Each plan comes with a monthly allowance of AI credits, and the agent draws on it as it works.
What are AI credits?
AI credits are the monthly allowance the agent uses when it creates things for you. Larger plans include more credits. If you need more than your plan includes, move up a plan or get a quote for Master.
Can I use OptiMonk from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?
Yes, on every plan. Connect the OptiMonk MCP server to your assistant and build, edit and publish popups from the conversation. It is not tied to a paid plan.
What counts as a pageview?
A pageview is counted each time any page on your site is loaded, whether or not a campaign is displayed. Pageviews are not the same as popup impressions.
What happens if I reach my pageview limit?
We email you when you reach 80% of your limit. At the limit your campaigns pause. They start again as soon as you upgrade, or when your monthly counter resets.
What counts as a separate domain?
Subdomains count as separate domains, so shop.example.com and example.com are two. Pages under the same domain, such as example.com/sale, are not.
How much do I save with yearly billing?
25% compared with paying month by month. Yearly plans are paid upfront for twelve months.
Can I change or cancel my plan? Do you offer refunds?
You can upgrade or downgrade from your account at any time; when you upgrade you pay the price difference. Cancelling moves you to the Free plan and keeps your campaigns and data. Switching from yearly to monthly billing is handled by our support team.
Refunds are available within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked. If you pay through Shopify, Shopify handles the refund.
Which payment methods do you accept, and what about VAT?
We accept cards and PayPal, and every invoice is available as a PDF in your account. Prices exclude VAT. OptiMonk is based in Hungary, so EU customers without a valid EU VAT number are charged 27% VAT. Customers with a valid EU VAT number, or outside the EU, are not.
Will my popups show OptiMonk branding?
No. OptiMonk does not add its branding to your popups on any plan, including Free.
