No-code Editor
Create popups from scratch or modify pre-built templates in an eye-blink.
The No-Code Editor is OptiMonk's campaign builder that lets you create, customize, and launch any campaign type — popups, sticky bars, fullscreens, side messages, embedded content, and dynamic content — without writing code. You have two modes to choose from: the drag-and-drop visual editor and the AI-powered editor. In the drag-and-drop editor, you build campaigns visually — dragging elements from the left panel into the workspace, clicking any element to configure it via the contextual settings panel, and switching between desktop and mobile views from the toolbar. In the AI editor, you describe changes in plain language and the AI applies them instantly — no hunting through settings panels, no manual pixel adjustments, no element-by-element editing. Both modes are available within the same environment, and you can switch between them freely.
Key benefits
- Build and edit campaigns without design or development skills. The drag-and-drop interface makes the full range of design tasks — adding headlines, swapping images, resizing buttons, adjusting colors, configuring form fields, setting up multi-step flows, and previewing on mobile — accessible to anyone. The AI editor extends this further: instead of navigating menus to make changes, you describe what you want in plain language and the editor applies it. Want a more urgent tone on the CTA, a different button color, or adjusted spacing? Just say so.
- Every setting is contextual, every change renders in real time. In the drag-and-drop editor, clicking any element opens its settings — organized into General, Style, and Advanced groups — in the right-side panel. Changes render in the workspace immediately. Desktop and mobile views are both editable in the same session, with settings that support independent values per device marked with a device icon. The Mini-Wizard can auto-apply your saved brand theme when you select a template, so the campaign arrives pre-branded before you make a single edit.
- From template to live campaign in minutes — in whichever mode fits you. Starting from a template, the Mini-Wizard applies your brand settings automatically before you open the editor. From there, use the drag-and-drop editor to refine the layout visually, or switch to the AI editor to describe the remaining adjustments in plain language. Both paths lead to the same result: a finished, published campaign without touching code — and without needing a designer or developer to get there.
How it works
After choosing your campaign type and template, optionally apply your saved brand theme via the Mini-Wizard, then enter the editor. Choose between the drag-and-drop editor and the AI editor — both are accessible from the same environment and you can switch between them at any point.
In the drag-and-drop editor, click "Add elements" to browse the element library and drag elements into the workspace — text, images, buttons, forms, countdown timers, product recommendations, videos, survey elements, and more. Click any placed element to configure it through the right-side settings panel. In the AI editor, type a plain-language instruction — for example, "make the headline more urgent," "change the button color to orange," or "shorten the body copy" — and the AI applies the change directly. Switch between desktop and mobile views to check and adjust both layouts. Add pages using the "+ Add new page" button for multi-step campaigns.
Click Save (or Save & Exit) when the design is complete. You then configure triggers, targeting conditions, integrations, and frequency rules before activating the campaign. The editor is available at any time to update a live campaign without pausing it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the No-code Editor in OptiMonk?+
The No-Code Editor is OptiMonk's campaign builder that lets you design and customize campaigns without coding. It offers two editing modes within the same environment: a drag-and-drop visual editor for element-by-element control, and an AI editor that applies changes when you describe them in plain language. Both modes can be used interchangeably within the same editing session.
What is the AI editor and how is it different from the drag-and-drop editor?+
The AI editor is an editing mode where you describe campaign changes in plain language — for example, "make the CTA more urgent" or "increase the spacing between the headline and the form" — and the AI applies them instantly without requiring you to locate settings or adjust individual elements manually. The drag-and-drop editor gives you direct, element-level control where you select elements and configure their properties through the settings panel. Both modes are available in the same environment and can be used interchangeably.
Can I switch between the drag-and-drop editor and the AI editor during the same session?+
Yes. Both editing modes are accessible from the same editor environment and can be used interchangeably within the same session. You can drag in new elements using the drag-and-drop editor, switch to the AI editor to describe a copy change, then return to the drag-and-drop editor to fine-tune a detail — all without leaving the editor or losing your work.
Can I start a campaign from scratch, or do I have to use a template?+
Both options are available. You can select a pre-built template from the library — optionally applying your saved brand theme automatically via the Mini-Wizard — and modify it in either editor mode. Or you can start from a blank canvas and build a campaign from scratch using the drag-and-drop editor's element library. The AI editor can be used in both cases to make changes once initial elements are in place.
Is coding ever required to use the editor?+
No coding is required for any standard campaign design or editing task — either through the drag-and-drop interface or the AI editor. The Code section in the left navigation bar is available for users who want to add custom CSS for advanced styling or JavaScript for custom event tracking, but it is entirely optional and not needed to build or launch campaigns.
