Saved Styles

Saved Styles

Design buttons, text blocks, discount codes and other campaign elements once, reuse them forever.

Saved Styles is an OptiMonk editor feature that lets you design the styling of any campaign element once — a button, a text block, a heading, a discount code element, a countdown timer, a product block — and save that styling configuration under a name so it can be applied to the same element type in any future campaign with a single click. Rather than manually recreating the same button color, font weight, border radius, and padding every time you build a new campaign, you configure it once, click "Save" in the element's Advanced settings panel, give it a descriptive name like "Primary CTA Button" or "Header Text Style," and it becomes available in the Saved Style dropdown for that element type across all future campaigns. Saved Styles are part of OptiMonk's broader Themes system — alongside Theme Kit (which defines brand-level settings like main color, fonts, logo, and corner style) — and together they form a two-tier design consistency system: Theme Kit sets the brand foundation, and Saved Styles handle the specific, reusable configurations of individual elements within it.

Key benefits

  • Eliminate repetitive element styling across campaigns. Every campaign you build that uses your standard button, heading style, or discount code block currently requires recreating those styles from memory or copy-referencing an existing campaign. Saved Styles removes this friction entirely: your approved element styles are available in a dropdown menu, ready to apply in one click. The fifth campaign you build this month takes the same amount of time as the first — and produces exactly the same element styling without any manual matching.
  • Maintain visual consistency across your entire campaign library. Brand consistency in campaign design is not just about colors and fonts — it is also about the specific weight, spacing, size, and style treatment of each element type. A Saved Style for your primary CTA button encodes all of those decisions in a single named configuration that any future campaign can use. When every popup, sticky bar, and embedded campaign draws its button styling from the same saved source, your campaigns look like they belong to the same design system.
  • Works for any stylable element type. Saved Styles are not limited to buttons. You can save custom styles for text elements (headings, body text, links), buttons (primary, secondary, responsive, link), discount code elements, countdown timer elements, and product elements — covering every building block of a popup layout. Each element type maintains its own library of saved styles, and predefined theme styles are also available alongside your custom ones for each category.

How it works

Step 1
Design and style your element in the campaign editor

Open any campaign in the OptiMonk editor and select the element whose styling you want to save — a button, a heading, a discount code block, or any other stylable element. Apply your preferred styling through the settings panel — colors, fonts, sizes, borders, padding, corner radius, and any other available properties for that element type.

Step 2
Save the style from the Advanced section

With the element selected, scroll to the Advanced section in the right-side settings panel and click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to "Saved style." Select "Save as new style" from the options that appear. Enter a descriptive name for the style — for example, "Primary CTA Button" or "Header Text Large" — and click Save. The style is now stored and available for reuse.

Step 3
Apply the saved style to any compatible element in future campaigns

In any campaign, select an element of the same type where you want to apply the saved style. In the Advanced section of the settings panel, open the Saved Style dropdown. Your custom styles appear alongside the predefined theme styles. Select the one you want to apply — the element's styling updates immediately to match the saved configuration, replacing any current styling in a single click.

Frequently asked questions

What are Saved Styles in OptiMonk?+

Saved Styles are named element styling configurations that you can save from any campaign element — buttons, text blocks, headings, discount codes, countdowns, product elements — and reuse in future campaigns. Once saved under a descriptive name, a style appears in the Saved Style dropdown in the Advanced settings of any compatible element, allowing you to apply your exact styling preferences in one click rather than recreating them manually each time.

Which element types support Saved Styles?+

Saved Styles are available for any stylable element in OptiMonk's editor, including buttons (with primary, secondary, responsive, and link style options), text elements (headings and body text), discount code elements, countdown timer elements, and product recommendation elements. Each element type maintains its own library of saved styles, so button styles are available when you select a button and text styles when you select a text element.

What is the difference between Saved Styles and Theme Kit?+

Theme Kit is the brand-level settings layer — it defines your main color (with automatically calculated shades), secondary colors, logo, primary and secondary fonts, and corner style. These settings apply globally to all campaigns created from Theme Kit-compatible templates. Saved Styles operate at the individual element level — they store the specific styling configuration of a single element type, such as a particular button with a specific background color, font size, border radius, and padding. Theme Kit establishes the brand foundation; Saved Styles encode the specific, reusable configurations of individual elements within that foundation.

Do Saved Styles update automatically when I change their settings?+

No. When you apply a Saved Style to an element, the style's settings are copied into that element at the time of application. Subsequent changes to the Saved Style definition do not retroactively update elements in campaigns that already applied it. If you want existing campaigns to reflect an updated style, you need to re-apply the updated Saved Style to each relevant element individually.

Can I use Saved Styles alongside predefined theme styles?+

Yes. The Saved Style dropdown for each element type displays both your custom Saved Styles and the predefined styles that come with your active theme — such as the theme's primary, secondary, and link button presets. You can mix both sources freely: apply a predefined theme style to some elements and a custom Saved Style to others within the same campaign. Your custom styles appear alongside the theme presets in the same dropdown, clearly distinguishable by their names.
