Ready, set… collect feedback!

Ready, set… collect feedback!

The ecommerce industry has experienced a huge amount of growth in the past few years. According to eMarketer, the global retail market will reach $25.038 trillion in 2019, an increase of 4.5% and a slight acceleration in growth vs. the prior year.

It presents a great opportunity. However, if you’d like to jump on this train, you need to make the most out of your ecommerce store. It’s essential to provide a first-class user experience for your visitors.

The easiest way to achieve this is to listen to your customers, so start asking feedback.

Now, collecting feedback with OptiMonk became a whole lot easier… and cooler.

In short: With our latest improvements, you can ask your users’ opinions, see detailed statistics about their feedback and target them based on their feedback with integrated marketing tools.

Now, let’s see more details!

Why gather feedback?

Customer feedback helps you understand why your users act as they do.

Why are they buying one product, and not another? Why they leave your store before finishing checkout? Why are they coming back, or why they leave so soon?

When you match the answers you got from your customers with your Google Analytics data, you can get a clear picture. Once you’ve got a clear picture, you’ll know what to improve.

How to collect feedback with OptiMonk?

Using OptiMonk, you can display surveys right on your site. You can conduct even long surveys with as many questions as you wish. With unlimited steps (or pages), the sky’s the limit for a feedback campaign.

Most of your visitors will have opinions about your site. It can also happen that they found a bug, and that’s why they leave. But they won’t reach out to you. Unless…

You can display an open-ended question about their experience. It enables to get an answer without forcing your visitors to select from fix options. It results in rich qualitative data that gives deeper insight into any topic.

You can collect feedback on popups and sidemessages as well, and we have many ready-to-use templates to help you with that.

We also have a surprise for you as a little bonus… you can read about it at the end of the article. 😉

Get to the point… Tell me what’s new!

I am excited to let you know that recently we rolled out some exciting new features regarding feedback options in OptiMonk.

Brand-new feedback element

A new element, called Feedback, is available in your Drag & Drop editor.

The Feedback element allows your visitors to give feedback by simply clicking on icons. It has 3 styles: 5 Stars, Smiley and Yes-No.

All types have default icons, but if you choose the Smiley or the Yes-No feedback type, you can even upload custom images to be displayed as choices.

The icons are fully customizable – as almost everything in your OptiMonk account. You can change the icon size, the spacing, and the color as well.

It’s important to note that these icons generally act as buttons. They can be set to “Redirect”, “Close” or “Jump to page” as usual, with the addition that “Jump to page” can be set by rating to ask additional questions if the user gave a bad rating.

Add questions to checkboxes and radio buttons

If you want your checkbox and radio button elements to behave as a feedback element, provide a question in the Input Settings.

Updated statistics

Now here comes another great new feature: feedback statistics for your campaigns.

If your elements have a question (as we mentioned above, you can add questions to checkboxes and radio buttons as well), your statistics will be displayed on the admin right under the Campaign statistics part.

Bonus templates

In order to help you get the most out of the brand-new feedback elements and statistics, we’ve created 20 ready-to-use templates for you.

Here’s a sneak peek:
