2018 was and is a huge year for us, OptiMonk has changed inside and out, but we haven’t stopped there. We’ve jumped on the bandwagon of event-themed templates like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas. Today, I’m bringing you something a little different but just as exciting even if you have high mobile traffic 😉
We came up with two new features that will make you an even better master online seller. These are mobile exit intent and manual coupon codes. With mobile exit intent, you are able to display popups on mobile devices, when a potential customer is about to leave your online store, something that wasn’t possible until now. With manual coupon codes, you can make sure, one visitor only gets only one coupon, thus increasing engagement. Both of these features will result in more engagement and a better view of your customer base.
Now, let’s see each of them in more detail.
Exit intent on mobile? Absolutely!
Mobile is getting a wider reach by the day. With our lives getting more and more fast-paced, it’s no wonder, billions of people check their emails, browse on the internet or try to find a better deal through their mobile devices. According to the Statista’s metrics, there are more than 4.5 billion mobile users worldwide, this means there is a huge opportunity in applying mobile exit intent in your online store.
How huge, you might ask, eCommerce growth is primarily being driven by customers using their mobile devices for online shopping. According to Statista, once more, the mobile share of total eCommerce is 58.9% (or $1.4 trillion) – and it’s poised for further growth.
So, it’s time to grab the bull by the horns and use the most effective on-site message type, exit intent, on mobile as well.
It works exactly like exit intent messages on PCs, it is activated when a visitor wants to leave the page, which, in this scenario is not determined by the movement of the mouse. On mobile, there is no mouse to follow, but as most mobile devices nowadays are touch based, you can trigger an exit intent popup on two actions:
1. Switching between browser tabs or
2. Hitting the back button.
On any of these two actions, you can show your visitors an on-site message, just like on desktops.
To set this up, all you have to do is go to When to Show in display settings, choose the On Exit-Intent option and select either Mobile or Both devices option when creating your OptiMonk campaign. Once you activate your campaign your popup will show on mobile devices as well.
Unique coupon codes to your visitors
If you are an eCommerce store owner, odds are you are constantly using coupon codes for your ongoing discounts. So you know the importance they hold.
Previously, we offered only fixed coupon codes to every visitor, and the same visitor could redeem the same code multiple times (when they viewed the site form different browsers). No more! With manual coupon codes, you can make sure one visitor gets only one code, making your dealings that much fairer. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can generate thousands of coupon codes and have a clearer view of your traffic.
What’s even better, once you’ve started your campaign with the unique coupon codes you can easily keep an eye out on how much has been seen, redeemed or used.
Setting it up is easy, it only takes six small steps inside the Drag & Drop editor.
If you are someone that would like to keep better track of their coupon codes or just wants to start an exclusive offer try this feature with your next campaign or alter one of your current ones. You will be able to be fairer to your customers and engage more of your visitors.
These were the new features that we have for you to finish 2018 strong.
With mobile exit intent, your messages will reach a much wider audience. The manual coupon codes will make your life easier when it comes to limiting the number of coupons you have or in tracking how your promotions. Not to mention being fairer to your customers and engaging more of your visitors
